Description

Opportunity for a Lean Manufacturing apprentice with a local company. You will carry out work safely, meet quality standards in a fast paced and efficient processing environment. Duties include using various tools/machinery by following health and safety procedures, measuring/marking of material for processing following specifications.

Training Description:

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard which includes:

Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training with NSEGTA

Full Description:

The successful candidate will shadow a skilled Engineer, benefiting from their many years of skill and expertise and, work towards being able to (but not limited to):

Using various tools and machinery by following health and safety procedures at all times
Measuring and marking of the material for cutting or drilling following design specifications
Processing jobs from drawings
Using Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve on workplace ability whilst developing practical skills

Other duties will include, keeping the workspace clean and tidy and other ad-hoc duties where required.

Outcome Description:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into full-time employment following the completion of the apprenticeship and/or another apprenticeship.

Description of Working Week:

Monday – Thursday 8:00am until 4:45pm.
Friday 8:00am until 3:15pm.
