A Level 3 Light Vehicle apprenticeship combines full-time, paid employment with formal training. Typically, lasting 36 months, it trains you to service, diagnose, and repair cars and vans. You will master advanced mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, and learn how to use specialist diagnostic equipment to solve complex faults.
As an apprentice mechanic’s daily routine mixes hands-on vehicle maintenance with workshop upkeep and shadowing senior technicians. Tasks scale from basic servicing and cleaning in the early months to assisting with advanced electrical diagnostics and MOT preparations as skills develop over the training period.
Completing a Level 3 Motor Vehicle Apprenticeship qualifies you as a fully-fledged Vehicle Technician. Expected career progression moves from Core Technician roles into Diagnostics, Specialist Vehicles, or Workshop Management.
Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm.
Saturday optional 9:00am to 12:00pm.
