Description

Opportunity for a Lean Manufacturing apprentice with a local company. You will carry out work safely, meet quality standards in a fast paced and efficient processing environment. Duties include using various tools/machinery by following health and safety procedures, measuring/marking of material for processing following specifications.

Training Description:

Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Operative apprenticeship standard which includes:

  • Level 2 Diploma in Manufacturing (knowledge and skills)
  • Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
  • Learning will take place in the workplace with the need to attend training with NSEGTA
Full Description:

The successful candidate will shadow a skilled Engineer, benefiting from their many years of skill and expertise and, work towards being able to (but not limited to):

  • Using various tools and machinery by following health and safety procedures at all times
  • Measuring and marking of the material for cutting or drilling following design specifications
  • Processing jobs from drawings
  • Using Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve on workplace ability whilst developing practical skills

Other duties will include, keeping the workspace clean and tidy and other ad-hoc duties where required.

Outcome Description:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into full-time employment following the completion of the apprenticeship and/or another apprenticeship.

Description of Working Week:

Monday – Thursday 8:00am until 4:45pm.
Friday 8:00am until 3:15pm.
